On Saturday August 9th 2014, I attended a Kumar Sanu concert at Queens Colden Center, Flushing NY.
The show commenced with a myriad of ultra talented musical opening acts, including a young and upcoming Singer Victoria Labban who rendered the popular Bollywood Love song Wada Raha majestically. Her voice was simply mesmeric as she delivered dulcet vocals throughout her performance.
A little later on in the night, distinctive instrumentals from Kumar Sanu’s Indian Band pierced the semi-silence in the arena which gave me Goosebumps. Immediately I knew this was ultimately the precursor for Kumar Ji to grace the stage. Dressed impeccably and almost resonating visuals of Royal Regalia, he appeared so majestic before us. His voice was pristine, sublime and omnipotent. He sang all of his hits, a few lines of each song followed by a story into another. It was well worth it!
Afterwards there was a scheduled meet and greet at Sohna Punjab Restaurant, each guest who purchased a special ticket was given this opportunity and treated to dinner. New York Based Dj Sohna, rocked the house while everyone was snapping away pictures with the super talented singer. I couldn’t wait to get my super memorable picture with him as well as an autograph and I even got to chit chat a few words with this Bollywood Icon. All in all, I must declare it was a beautiful night worth treasuring.
