Prego Spicy Red Pepper Pasta Sauce, tossed with Penne Pasta and Sautéed Dujardin Mushrooms topped with Freshly Aged Cheddar

Ingredients Needed

  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Tsp of Minced Garlic
  • 3 Tbsp of Chopped Red Onion
  • 3 Tbsp of Dujardin Mushrooms ( Thawed )
  • 1/2 Cup Prego Spicy Red Pepper Pasta Sauce
  • 1 Cup of Swiss Penne Pasta
  • 2 Tbsp of Shaved Aged Cheddar Cheese
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste

Method

In a Medium pot, add water and 1 tsp of salt. Bring to a boil and place penne pasta in to boil for 10 minutes or until cooked. Strain and set aside.

Place a medium saucepan over high heat and add the olive oil, onions and garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds then add the Mushrooms. Cook for three minutes until mushrooms are fragrant and slightly wilted. Add the Prego Spicy Red Pepper Pasta Sauce and place on medium heat. Stir and bring to a simmer. Adjust by adding salt and pepper to taste. Carefully add the boiled penne pasta in and toss to coat in the sauce. Serve immediately in pasta bowls and top with the shaved Aged Cheddar Cheese. Enjoy
